I joined MIT Haystack Observatory in 2003 as a part-time technical staff. My daily tasks were focused on desktop support and troubleshooting. I started using my scripting and programming knowledge to automate some basic system monitoring and assist in developing adaptive network transfer software for big data. I was asked to join full-time as a result and became focused on project support for the Geodetic and Astronomy program while maintaining general support for the Observatory.
